How lillylinks.com frames personal recovery differently.
1. We don’t have a set interactive community.
We chose to continue to focus on our own families and naturally formed friendships, groups, communities, and ‘tribes’ rather than the added pressure to join an online support group. We use our energies to engage in life around us. As that is where all our support places can be found.
2. We create recovery products.
Lillylinks.com has been designed so that we each can eventually graduate from recovery to live beyond the confines of only diagnosis, symptoms, and stigma. However long it takes, our story arc is based on change and choices that lead to something new. We work gradually to redefine our internal life’s view to form the beginning of all our needed courage and internal strengths.
3. We are NOT a referral site.
We focus on living our own program of recovery. We don’t recommend any specific types of therapy or treatment. Firstly, because access is too varied or unavailable, second the cost to access is always changing and lastly, we cannot see your personal situation fully to safely recommend or refer. Your communities are better able to help find additional localised help as needed. We suggest starting where community supports are most accessible or familiar.
4. We provide Products and e-learning for Recovery.
We hold to the value of self-supporting recovery and believe that individuals’ self-seeking recovery holds value as we continue to work to find better solutions to our life problems safely. We use traditional recovery understandings to support and create better thinking with emotional stabilities. As that is where our true recovery finds peace of mind.
5. We work from a place of linking HOW to seek solutions.
In our experience, more success is found in ‘doing’ Recovery actions and pre-actions, than ‘discussing’ reasons how we got to such troubling problems. We have a Peer Practitioner Focus Content, but we don’t story share. All information in our e-learning is designed for context to support the concepts of recovery.
We learnt (the hard way) that Peers too often, risk more injury when discussing problems created by our histories, sickness, and ill thinking. This can stall or stop recovery, by overexposure to other’s pain and trauma bonding. Retelling any shared trauma stories is a personal choice- a dignity in recovery.
